Dimensions of Behavior

Another very interesting exercise our professor gave us in class was the DISC test to gauge our management orientation. I turned out to be Ci type with the main emphasis on working conscientiously within existing circumstances to ensure quality and accuracy, but also on shaping the environment by influencing or persuading others. I think my results are correct. After I read the details on the interpretation page, Everything it says about Ci type is also true about me. I always pay attention to key directives and standards, think analytically, weighting pros and cons and check for accuracy. I like when exact task or job descriptions and performance objectives are set. I also need to get a clear feedback on my performance in order to analyze my mistakes and improve my future performance.
As for the "i" part of the Ci type, i know if i need to get something done, i can influence or persuade others to help me to achieve our goals together. But I rarely "use" this "i" part because i don't like to rely on others and prefer to do everything myself to make sure everything is perfect. I would like to continue being "C" type and work more on developing my "i" because working with people surrounding you is one of the most important key to succeed in the tough business world.
In my opinion, this test is great and very helpful to understand people's potentials when hiring. For example, "D" ans "I" type people are great for any management positions, while "C" or "S" people will be excellent accountants, statisticians or other positions where specific guidelines for accomplishing the task are set for them.
